The entire waste feeding system was replaced during this year's overhaul of combustion line 1. Replacing the system involved completely removing the chute shaft, feed chute damper and feed hopper and substituting the parts with components employing the latest in technology. The box-type feeder side walls filled with concrete were delivered ready for installation and placed onto the base structure. The chute shaft, feed chute damper and feed hopper were lined with bolt-on wear plates. What is more, a bridge breaker was additionally fitted to eliminate any clogging in the chute shaft from the control room. In addition, the cooling system for the chute shaft was modified into a closed system.

The work was completed on schedule and to the entire satisfaction of the client.
